Yaddo ... The artists’ community established in 1900 by Spencer and Katrina Trask, has a simple mission: to offer creative artists uninterrupted time to work, good working conditions, and a supportive environment.

Yaddo encourages artists from all nations and of all backgrounds to apply for admission. Yaddo does not discriminate in its programs and activities against anyone on the basis of race, creed, color, religion, national origin, sex, age, sexual orientation, marital status, ancestry, disability, HIV status, or veteran status.

For application highlights, click here. A complete application package, including details on all required materials, may be downloaded here. Do not reformat the application form. You need Acrobat Reader to display or print the form. If you need help with Acrobat, click here . If you have difficulty printing the entire application package, you can download the necessary forms here and read the application highlights online. If you prefer, you can instead request that an application package be mailed to you. To request it, send an e-mail to Candace Wait at chwait@yaddo.org. No application forms will be faxed.

Important Dates Application deadlines are January 1 (for residencies starting mid-May of the same year through February of the following year), and August 1 (for residencies starting late October of the same year through May of the following year). Completed applications must be clearly postmarked by these deadlines to be considered in these judging periods. Late applications will not be accepted. Notification of results will be mailed March 15 and October 1. You may apply in either January or August, but not both within the same calendar year. Attention Visual Artists Yaddo can now accept work samples for artists applying in Visual Arts at Yaddo.slideroom.com. Applicants may upload images (jpg). For good image quality and fast upload, 1280 x 1280 px@72 dpi is the ideal image size. The SlideRoom site offers additional instruction for submitting work online. The application fee for this service is $35, and may be paid by credit card only, directly from the SlideRoom site. The $35 includes Yaddo's $20 application fee. If you are sending your images via SlideRoom, you will still need to send a completed application form and professional resume directly to Yaddo, P.O. Box 395, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866.
