Telephone Service Remains Limited

Saratoga Springs, NY (May 23, 2008) - Communication service remains limited at Yaddo due to a May 10th fire confined to the garage/office building, so the best way to communicate with the Yaddo staff at this time is through email.

Thankfully, the fire occurred when no one was in the building. There were no injuries and the fire was extinguished relatively quickly by the local fire department. However, the basement maintenance space, where the fire originated, sustained major damage, and the administrative offices on the first floor, and the second floor that houses the media room and other functions, have smoke and soot damage. While the clean-up process proceeds and necessary repairs are made to the building, the entire office staff is working from temporary quarters elsewhere on the Yaddo grounds.
