 Joanne Heyman |
Saratoga Springs, NY (July 19, 2004) -
Yaddo is pleased to announce the appointment of Joanne Heyman as Director of Major Gifts/Special Projects.
Ms. Heyman, who began work at Yaddo on June 12, will be based in New York City but will spend a considerable amount of time in Saratoga Springs. Yaddo President Elaina Richardson, who said Ms. Heyman is perfectly suited to help shape a vibrant second century at Yaddo, has charged her with developing a cohesive and comprehensive program for securing major gifts from individuals, foundations, and corporations to meet both the operating and capital needs of the institution.
Ms. Heyman holds a Masters in International Affairs from Columbia University School of International and Public Affairs, and a BA in Comparative Literature from Smith College. Most recently, she has worked for the Goldman Sachs Foundation and several not-for-profit organizations (advising on global philanthropy), and she previously served as Managing Director of Financial Services Volunteer Corps. She lives in Hastings-on-Hudson, New York, with her husband and two daughters.
"I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work with the artists, staff, and board at Yaddo," said Ms. Heyman. "I look forward to engaging with each of these groups to cultivate the resources necessary to support Yaddo's mission."
Working closely with Ms. Heyman to meet her goals will be Lesley Leduc, Yaddo's Public Affairs Coordinator. She will help Ms. Heyman prepare marketing and related materials to be used in the solicitation of major gifts and in the service and implementation of special projects.
