Three Yaddo Artists Named USA Fellows
Los Angeles, CA (December 4, 2012) - Three Yaddo artists are among 50 winners of United States Artists Fellowships for 2012, receiving grants of $50,000 each with no strings attached, it was announced Sunday in Los Angeles.
Performance artists Coco Fusco (Brooklyn, New York), John Kelly (New York City), and Keith Hennessy (San Francisco) and the other 2012 USA Fellows were honored Sunday at a ceremony led by Tim Robbins and hosted by the Getty Museum and United States Artists (USA). USA is a national artists’ advocacy organization that provides direct support for creative professionals by annually giving away $50,000 grants to at least 50 individuals working in eight disciplines.
Since 2006, USA has distributed more than $17.5 million to a total of 367 artists. Fellowships are awarded to artists who demonstrate “artistic excellence, unique artistic vision, and significant contributions to their fields.” The fields represented are architecture and design, crafts and traditional arts, dance, literature, media, music, theater arts, and visual arts.
