Summer Show at On Stellar Rays

New York, NY (June 24, 2011) – “Inti," a summer group exhibition at On Stellar Rays in New York City, features works by seven artists, including three who have been recent guests at Yaddo, sculptor Terry Adkins, painter Rochelle Feinstein, and performance artist William Pope.L.

 Adkins, Feinstein, and Pope.L, along with the other participating artists, Barbara De Genevieve, Maren Hassinger, Clifford Owens, and Martha Rosler ,will be celebrated at an opening reception Sunday, June 26, from 6 to 8 p.m. The event is open to the public. Adkins is a Member of The Corporation of Yaddo.

 The inspiration for the exhibition is Owens’ work, which frequently engages other artists in collaborative performances and dialogue. His work is influenced by a preceding generation of African American artists working in performance, as well as a generation of artists for whom social awareness and activism is the norm. “Inti,” Owens said, maps out “how an artist’s work is always informed by and through other voices.”

 “Inti” remains on view through July 31.  Gallery hours are Wednesday-Saturday 11 a.m.-6 p.m. and Sundays 12-6 p.m. For additional information about the show and the individual artists, click here.
