MARCH 16: Jules Feiffer will read from Backing Into Forward, his new memoir of his Bronx childhood and early career, at the New York State Museum in Albany. Find out more here.
MARCH 21: Lore Segal will read from her recently republished cult classic about New York's literary scene, Lucinella, at the KGB Bar in New York City. The novella begins at a "Yaddo-like" artists' community. Get more information here.

MAY 2: A new composition by Peter Child, "Song of Liberty: A Blake Cantata", written at Yaddo in January, will premiere in Cambridge, Massachusetts, on May 2 with a performance by the MIT Concert Choir. Read more here.

A Golden Weekend for Precious

Sapphire led the applause at this year's Oscars as a film based on one of her novels was honored with two golden statuettes just two days after a series of wins at the 2010 Film Independent Spirit Awards.
Since its debut at the Sundance Film Festival, where it earned three top prizes, Precious: Based on the Novel Push by Sapphire, has impressed audiences and critics alike with its emotionally charged story. Read more here.
Raise a Toast to Yaddo
Plan now to join us for two fun-filled events — one in New York City and the other in Saratoga Springs — to celebrate and support the artists who find inspiration at Yaddo. Author and humorist Jonathan Ames, the creative force behind the new hit HBO series Bored to Death, will be center stage at the April 24th Yaddo New York City Benefit, and novelist and short story writer Rick Moody will entertain guests at the June 17th Yaddo Summer Benefit in the Yaddo Mansion with a story written in Tweets. Web Series Enjoying a Hot Streak

It has been an amazing month for
Susan Miller and her groundbreaking web series
Anyone But Me, which has received critical acclaim for bringing attention to acceptance, identity, and social change. Now the online drama is in line for yet more recognition.
The series picked up three nominations for the 2010 Streamy Awards (best writing in a drama web series for Miller and Tina Cesa Ward, best directing for Ward, and best actress for Rachael Hip-Flores); four Time After Time/Soap World Awards nominations (best web series, best leading actress for Hip-Flores, best supporting actress for Nicole Pacent, and best supporting actor for Joshua Holland), and three nominations for the TVGuide.ca Soap Opera Spirit Awards. A New Face at Yaddo
After an extensive national search, Steve Dennin recently was appointed Yaddo's Director of Development. He is based in New York City but is spending a few days a month at Yaddo in Saratoga Springs and has been busy getting acquainted with friends of Yaddo. Read more here.

George Tsontakis's newest original work for symphony orchestra,
Impetuous, received its world premiere in February with the Louisville Orchestra, with Conductor Jorge Mester. The work was commissioned for the Kentucky orchestra by Nana Lampton, a Member of The Corporation of Yaddo.
Tsontakis won the 2005 University of Louisville Grawemeyer Award for Music Composition for his Violin Concerto No. 2, a piece he worked on at Yaddo. Impetuous also was partially written at Yaddo.
