What is Podcasting?

Podcasting is a simple, web-based method for sharing audio and video files. The power of podcasting comes from the ability of listeners and viewers to subscribe, free of charge, to a podcast, thereby receiving all new episodes automatically.

The subscription link to a podcast is called a RSS feed, which stands for Real Simple Syndication, and podcasting strives to be a simple but reliable method for delivering the latest episodes.

Podcasting takes its name from Apple's popular media player, the iPod, but you do not need an iPod to enjoy podcasts. Yaddocast's audio and video files play on your computer, can be downloaded to any mp3 players, or in some instances, put on your cell phone. To sample Yaddocast without having to download any files or subscribe to the series, simply hit the triangular play button for either the audio or video player imbedded on the Yaddocast page.
